So I look at the date on the last post like this and just wade through my social media posts to put down anything of any particular note here, like a searchable back up, similar to what Scobletrousers talks about here.
The idea of an independent webis becoming increasingly vital I think, it takes effort, and does not come naturally to most. This blog is not currently self-hosted, but should be…
Experimenting with GIFs based on my videos again. Thinking of making a nicely produced book based on a GIF. Seeing how far I can push the format here and or my website….how many frames….what size, etc. Then once I make the book I may document the book/GIF/webpage in a video. Maybe throw in a performance and monologue. Really want to explore the plasticity of this material.
We featured Glass Animals’ new album on this week’s WWTB but this video deserves its own post.
Now a days, claymation videos seem to be a kind of rite of passage for indie bands. But the strangely transformative and psychedelic narrative of Pools is appealing. It matches the tropical, slightly off kilter vibe of the song. The sound is different, but also fresh and crisp, perfect for late summer nights.
I love the rollercoastering of sounds—as if I am discovering a new landscape.
“Visit my blog for ‘behind the scenes’ stuff: http://goo.gl/EpwoBN This is what came out of my head on a three week music video project on my art foundation course… Hand drawn animation 759 frames drawn in Photoshop CS5 Edited in Sony Vegas Pro 10 Music: Gooey - Glass Animals “
“Here is some random crap I would tell my 15 year old self: get off social networks, finish every project even if you think it’s bad, be happy to have free time and use the hell out of it, do more drugs, keep a diary.”
